Can AI Provide Passive Income? Week 13 Insights

Happy June everyone!

Over the last thirteen weeks, this AI passive income challenge has continued to evolve, and this week marked another big pivot.

After publishing my first long-form video, I spent time reviewing how it performed against similar content in my chosen niche. The difference? Many of the comparable videos were using fully AI-generated clips, and that really stood out. It raised a big question: if this becomes the future of faceless video content, do I want to look back and wish I’d tested the potential of AI earlier?

I paused on it at first, but the idea kept returning. So, this week I took the plunge!

I’ve subscribed to an AI video creation tool for a three-month test run, with one clear goal: assess whether this kind of content could realistically become part of a viable passive income strategy.

Turning AI into a Full Creative Workflow

My current focus is on building a fully AI-assisted long-form video, using AI to generate the concept, lyrics, music, visuals, and supporting clips. It’s creatively exciting, but not without frustration. Some image outputs are impressive; others completely miss the mark.

That said, being able to shape content like this using AI is a huge shift from where I was just a few months ago. Editing is still handled manually, but AI’s creative lift is undeniable.

Why I Paused Shorts This Week

I had plans to continue publishing Shorts as normal, but I decided to temporarily hit pause. Focusing my energy on building this new AI-led video gives me a fresh perspective, and frankly, it’s re-energised the entire project. It’s a reminder that sometimes taking a step back from the routine allows space for breakthroughs.

Why This Leap Feels Right

While reviewing performance this week, my first long-form video hit 50 views. As a test, I used some of that footage to quickly publish a related Short, which only brought in 26 views. Neither video hit the heights I’d hoped for, but it confirmed something I’d been feeling: that simply repurposing content isn’t enough.

If I want to stand out and grow this project into something sustainable, I need to innovate and fully explore what AI can actually achieve. Committing to this direction for the next three months feels like the right move.

The Road Ahead

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be testing how these fully AI-generated videos perform and how I can scale them, if the results are promising. The early signs are exciting, but I’m mindful of the balance between creativity, cost, and consistency. If this format starts to resonate with viewers, it could open a whole new path in this AI-driven passive income journey.

Have you experimented with AI for creative content? I’d love to hear how it’s working for you.
